I forgot- Transitions are hard. Trying to remember that life isn't about having it all figured out, but about learning as we go. Transitions are full of pieces needing rearranging and adjusting. Can't be afraid to let go and make mistakes, and learn from them. Must remember I'm not alone, even when I feel like I am.
Learning and growing and changing and loving (ourselves and others) is really what it's all about ... That or the hokey pokey :P

Don't Stop Believing
In honor of new beginnings - a new post, and a new song from Train that I enjoy.
Learning how to let go - of the past, of attachments, of worries;
and to surrender - to the moment, to happiness, to God, to grow.
Sometimes people enter our lives that we don't expect, and it helps us learn and grow, and find joy. Keeping faith and hope.
Thankful today for my friends, family, and for new beginnings. :D

Random thoughts
Remembering the "ancient"art of cassette tape and listening to the lion king soundtrack on a tape player. :) nostalgia at its best.
Watched a special on "best pizza" in the state today. Now I want to try all of them. Or make pizza. Maybe my new "diet" will be a different pizza every day / week...
The lion king is awesome.
Warm weather puts me in such a good mood.

Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes
I bought the book Yoga for Your Brain:A Zentangle Workout. This is my artwork inspired by some new tangles I learned from the book.

2012: The world doesn't look quite like it used to
Another year over, another year has begun.
On the first of the year I received an email from my past self (FutureMe.org), in which I had included these words of advice: "Be gentle with yourself. Be patient. and don't rush things."
Wow, thanks past me, just what I needed to hear! It's something I was trying the past year, but it's always good to have that reminder.
In the transition from 2011 to 2012, I was even more reflective on the past, present, and where I want to be in the future than usual. I started a major written reflection in my journal after an email received from the gym I belong to. Then I stumbled upon a blog Savor Growth , which led me to another blog with the process that I am going to attempt to use for this year. The last step is to share you goals and action plans. I'll share parts with you here.
My overall phrase for the year will be "CREATE PEACE". In this crazy technology filled, stressed out society (and my life) it is often hard to slow down and really savor the moments. My overall theme will be to create internal calm and peace, along with creating artwork, and peace within my home and job. This will be a challenge, but one I'm up for trying this year.
One of my "Life Buckets" is about Writing and Creativity, and what's more fitting than using a blog to work on sharing both of these goals with others. I recently rediscovered my passion for arts, crafts, and all things creative and have decided to make one of my goals to do an arts, crafts, or writing exercise each day, and to blog daily (or as often as possible).
Well, I'm off to work, but will try to update on my progress!
Thanks for reading!
